Ep22 - Are these tourist destinations worth the Hype?
We fancy ourselves travelers, not tourist. We try to stay off the beaten path and discover the places around us in a less organized fashion. That said, the Exumas is undeniably a tourist destination with specific attractions on the circuit. While we are here, we decided to see which ones are worth the hype and which ones we could do without. We enjoyed visiting a few caves requiring a settled sea state and slack tide. We snorkeled on a reef the size of a fish bowl, but it was so beautiful and filled with marine life that it's definitely on the "don't miss" list. One of the most popular attractions in the Exumas is the swimming pigs, and this is one we could de without. And of course a visit to the Exumas wouldn't be complete without sundowners and a stroll on at least one sand bar. The central Exumas continues to impress.
